Mom thoughts: We love any hat with ear flaps. The longer you can convince your kids to wear them the better (a recent 12 year old customer said 'No way, hose' when we showed her a hat with ear flaps). When the wind starts blowing cold air, ears start to feel it even after 15-30 minutes outside. We also love the velcro chin strap that keeps a hat from riding too high on their head. And, the soft fleece keeps the Pigtail hat from being too itchy.
